GPA Calculator

Multiply each course's grade points by its credit hours, add those products together, then divide by total credit hours. For example: (4.0 × 3) + (3.0 × 4) = 24 quality points / 7 credits = 3.43 GPA.

The standard GPA scale runs from 0.0 to 4.0, where A = 4.0, B = 3.0, C = 2.0, D = 1.0, and F = 0.0. Plus and minus grades are typically 0.3 higher or lower (A- = 3.7, B+ = 3.3).

A 3.0 GPA (B average) is generally considered good. A 3.5+ is excellent and often qualifies for Dean's List. Competitive graduate programs typically look for 3.5+, while 2.0 is usually the minimum to remain in good academic standing.

Pass/fail (or credit/no credit) courses typically don't affect your GPA. A "Pass" earns credit but no quality points. A "Fail" may or may not impact your GPA depending on your school's policy.
