- England & Wales: September to July, with a 1 September cut-off. GCSEs at the end of Year 11, A-levels at the end of Year 13.
- Australia: Late January to December, so a school year sits inside one calendar year. Year 12 certificate and ATAR at the end of Year 12.
- Canada: September to June, the same shape as the US year. Provincial secondary school diploma at the end of Grade 12.
- India: April to March, so a school year straddles two calendar years. Class 10 and Class 12 board exams.
2022 is Generation Alpha
Anyone born between 2013 and 2024 counts as Generation Alpha. Widely used, but no research body has fixed this boundary.
